This page describes the website management criteria with reference to personal data processing concerning its users. This note is also published pursuant to art. 13 of Legislative Decree no. 196/03 – Code regarding the protection of personal information - to those interacting with the Open Innovation web portal for the protection of personal data, which may be accessed on the web starting from the address: http://www.openinnovation.regione.lombardia.it
Purpose of the service
The Open Innovation platform was designed with the purpose of offering innovation operators a space for dialogue and sharing knowledge, to define collaborative projects, facilitate the creation of partnership programmes and access to networks, services and international platforms having a purpose being consistent with the above goals, promote dialogue among regional stakeholders and the recipients of research, innovation and competitiveness support policy, fostering a steady co-operation with local communities in defining regional support policy and tools.'
The platform may publish news, discussion notices, collaboration proposals, all falling under the scope of the initiative, that is, promoting dialogue and facilitating the aggregation of skills around the issues of regional smart specialisation within the areas of research and innovation. Any activities targeted at promoting purely commercial initiatives, meant as the provision of a service for a price, shall not be allowed.'
Purposes of the processing
The personal data provided at registration (ref. Registration data) shall be used for the purpose of allowing access to the platform. Besides the purpose reported above, the provided data may be processed to send information concerning the platform (e.g. newsletter).'
Controller and Processors
The Data controller is Regione Lombardia, with headquarters in Milan, Piazza Città di Lombardia 1, in the person of its Pro Tempore Legal Representative.
The Data processors are Finlombarda S.p.A., which performs operational activities in connection with the provision of the service and Lombardia Informatica S.p.A., which manages and maintains the information systems on behalf of Regione Lombardia.
Both are appointed as Data processors, to whom Regione Lombardia has given operational instructions in order to ensure the confidentiality and security of the data.
Personal data provided by users while registering in order to access Open Innovation on-line services [and/or subsequently collected while using the same services, including those about web traffic (including, but not limited to, IP internet addresses)], will be processed for the management of the contract and the provision of services, for maintenance and technical support; for the management of any complaints or controversies and for the prevention/prosecution of frauds or any other illegal activities. Moreover, they may obviously be processed also in compliance with the law.
In order to access the Regione Lombardia Open Innovation portal, users must register using a valid e-mail address as well as their Name and Surname. A temporary password, to be modified at first access, will be sent to the e-mail address provided.
You may also access and/or register to Open Innovation on a Social Network using some of the data already registered thereon. The main Social Networks used are:
Linkedin: when accessing via Linkedin, the following information is required:
- Profile overview (which includes name, picture, summary and current position of the profile at hand);
- E-mail address, also used to access Linkedin.
Facebook: if accessing via Facebook, the required data include your public profile and e-mail address as registered on Facebook.
Twitter: this being the access modality of choice, the e-mail address and password to the personal Twitter account will be requested, while the information that might be processed is the following:
- History tweets;
- People followed;
- Profile update;
- Publication of account Tweets.
Google Plus: access via this Social Network requires accessing:
- E-mail used for the Google Plus profile;
- Full name, profile image and profile URL;
- All public domain information of the personal Google+ profile (if any, or if created subsequently);
- A further authorisation for data processing required by the above is asked of users while registering with the corresponding social network.
The computer systems and software procedures used for this website acquire, during their normal operation, some personal data whose transmission is implicit in the use of Internet communication protocols. This is information that has been taken into consideration, with processing and association with data held by third parties, which allow users to be identified. This category of data includes IP addresses or computer names used by users connecting to the site and other parameters relating to the operating system and the user's computer environment. This data is useful only for detailed statistics on site usage and to check for errors deleted immediately after processing. The data could be used to ascertain responsibility in case of hypothetical computer crimes against the site: except for this eventuality, the data on web contacts do not persist.

Data provided voluntarily by the user
The goal of the Open Innovation platform is mainly accomplished by sharing and publishing information - including contact data - by means of the same platform and possibly by means of transferring it to third parties upon the signature of specific agreements to that purpose (e.g. International brokerage and platforms for Open Innovation, international support networks for innovation and competitiveness, etc.).
The further authorisation for data processing required by the above is asked of users while registering with the corresponding social network.
Method of treatment
Data processing occurs in compliance with Law 196/03 on personal data protection.
The data provided shall be stored for a period of time not exceeding the time needed for the purposes for which the data were collected or subsequently processed and in any case in compliance with internal privacy policies.
The data may be submitted, upon request, to competent authorities in compliance with all legal obligations.
Rights of the data subjects
The interested parties (Pursuant to art. 4, co.1, letter i of the Privacy Code, "interested" is "the natural person to whom the personal data refer." In this case, it is the users who fill out the form with your data to use the service.) may at any time exercise the rights provided by the art. 7 of Legislative Decree 196/2003, which can be consulted in "Legislative Decree No. 196/2003, Article 7 - Right to access personal data and other rights", including the right to obtain confirmation of the existence of data which concern, ask for the origin, know the updated list of managers; verify the accuracy of the data, request its correction, updating or integration or the cancellation or blocking for those processed in violation of the law or still oppose its use for legitimate reasons to be highlighted in the request, by contacting the Data Controller .
