The new call of the European Research Council (ERC) - the EU body that funds excellent researchers of all ages and nationalities for frontier research activities in EU Member States or associated countries - is still open.
The deadline is 24 October at 5 p.m., Brussels time.
Specifically, Starting Grant (StG) calls are aimed at researchers of any nationality, emerging research leaders, with 2-7 years of experience gained after obtaining a doctorate (or other equivalent qualification).
The ideal recipients of funding are therefore talented researchers at the beginning of their careers, ready to work independently and demonstrate the potential to be future research leaders. Funding can be up to EUR 1.5 million per individual project for a maximum duration of five years.
