A Swedish SME with an extensive collection of primary and secondary antibodies for research, seeks U.S. distribution services agreement

Proposal reference:BOSE20191031001

A Swedish SME, specialized in the production of antibodies for research, is offering an extensive collection of primary and secondary antibodies for various applications, as well as custom made antibody production. Preferably the distributor has a staff experienced in biotechnology, a record within the field of academia & industry as well as good relationships with U.S. universities and researchers. The company seeks distribution services agreement in the U.S.

The company has its origin in northern Sweden and was founded almost 35 years ago with the aim to provide high-quality primary and secondary antibodies. The company has the largest plant antibody collection in the world, and offers thousands of antibodies for plants, algae, bacteria, human and animals off-the-shelf. Beyond this, they produce custom monoclonal and polyclonal antibodies used worldwide in academic research, industry, diagnostics and pharma. With their own animal facilities and in-house immunological services, the company offers custom antibody production for almost any research area and scale needed. The antibodies provided are produced solely for research, and not for therapeutic use, i.e. they are excluded from the FDA and EU EMA rules. The antibodies are used for e.g. qualitative detection and localization of proteins, in order to gain knowledge on how a protein functions, its abundance and where in an organism said protein is expressed. As such, the primary customer base consists of researchers, mainly at universities. Analytical methods where these antibodies are used include western blot, immunolocalization, immunoprecipitation and ELISA. The chosen distributor should operate within the borderland of academia and industry, and preferably have, or be willing to obtain, good relationships with North American universities (primarily within the U.S. ), to directly interact with, and sell to, end customers within research, based on their specific needs. The chosen distributors will receive support and assistance in the form of technical support and marketing material from the company. The north Swedish company is currently represented in most of Europe and Asia, and to some extent also in Africa, Oceania, as well as North and South America. The Swedish SME is primarily seeking operating distributors for a service agreement in the U.S. By means of close communication with the Swedish SME, as well as the distributor’s own knowledge of biotechnology, the distributor should strive to deliver the best suited antibodies to researchers within both academia and industry. Beyond this, the distributor should use their knowledge to actively expand their own distribution network and customer base.

Cooperation Partner AreaThe north Swedish SME is looking for distribution services agreement primarily in the U.S. The target distributor is a small to medium-sized company (20-50 employees), with whom the north Swedish SME can form a close collaboration, based on good communication. Preferably, the distributing company distributes similar, but not competing, products (such as chemicals, growth media etc.). At least a portion of the staff is experienced in biotechnology (immunology, proteomics, etc.). Ideally, the distributors would have, or be willing to obtain, good relationships with American universities (researchers being the main customer base of the Swedish SME). This way, new products, offers and promotions can be developed, adapted and communicated directly to the customers on a regular basis. The distributors will drive the sales process by actively finding and attracting new American customers, aiding old and new customers in the purchase (and import, if needed) of the antibodies from the Swedish SME, as well as function as a local representative of the Swedish SME in the U.S. The distributors are, to some extent, required to possess the capability and biotechnological knowledge needed to engage in dialogue with customers using antibodies for research. The distributors will thus, when needed, act as external competence, in order to aid customers as well as expand their own distribution network and customer base. The main focus will be to provide customers with catalog antibodies but could to some extent also include finding and aiding in custom antibody production projects. When transporting: The products are not restricted according to IATA regulations, (IATA = International Air Transport Association).
