Distributors sought for Danish patented robot trainer for physical rehabilitation of patients

Identificativo proposta:BODK20210113001

A Danish company has developed a robot solution which provides efficient and extra training for rehabilitation patients and at the same time eliminates healthcare workers' pain caused by heavy lifting. The company is looking for distributors, who have a an already established contact to the healthcare sector, especially rehabilitation clinics and rehabilitation departments in hospitals.

Established in 2014, this Danish company developed high quality and user-friendly robotic solutions for the healthcare sector, which could eliminate problems to healthcare professionals, caused by having to lift patients. As a specialist in rehabilitation through robot technology, they wanted to deliver a product which could optimise mobility and provide better conditions for rehabilitation. The robot has been approved as a Class IIa medical device in compliance with the medical device directive (93/42/EEC - CE-approved) and FDA approval was obtained in March 2020.Next step is to include an online data module. Not only healthcare professionals benefit from the development of the rehabilitation robot, but the innovation has also proved to be an attractive solution for patients. This is due to the fact that the training sessions can be expanded, optimised and individualised without problems for the physiotherapists. The robot helps people with physical training by providing the exact resistance during rehab training of their lower limbs e.g. after a stroke, brain tumour or traumatic brain/spinal cord damage, or those in wheelchairs. People who are hospitalised lose muscle mass very quickly, so will also benefit from the robot training. Further and more dedicated training provides faster recovery for the patients and thereby shorter time in hospital. As a result, this leads to lower expenses in bed use, faster patient turn-over, and reduction of waiting lists. In addition the robot provides an improved working environment for the therapists. With the intention to expand their business internationally and offer their technology to new markets the company is now looking for distributor(s) for Germany as well as Austria and Switzerland. The distributor(s) must have good knowledge of and network within the REHAB sector and decision makers in the industry. Preferably they will already have established business activities in this market. Furthermore, the preferred distributor has an existing sales force with a relevant background to ensure a professional dialogue with hospital personnel and physiotherapists.
