Research Day, promoted by the Lombardy Region in conjunction with the Umberto Veronesi Foundation, returns every 8 November at La Scala Theatre in Milan.
It is a public event that encourages reflection on the fundamental role of science and innovation for social welfare, which culminates in the presentation of the “Lombardia è ricerca” international award.
The “Lombardia è ricerca” award presented by the Lombardy Region is one of the most significant on an international level. 1 million euros is awarded to discoveries, research or inventions of high scientific and technological value, with wide-ranging benefits for the entire community.
The 2024 edition is dedicated to “Life Sciences”.
Bookings for the 7th edition of Research Day are now open on this platform.
Participation is indeed free and open to everyone, but - given the limited number of seats at La Scala - a place must be reserved with a designated ticket.
Book your free ticket now on the Research Day 2024 page.
By participating in this event, you will be able to attend the lecture by the winner of the 2024 edition of the International Award “Lombardia è ricerca”, listen to speeches by prominent guests from the world of research and beyond, as well as attend the introductory artistic performance.
An important space for schools is always provided at the Research Day event. The winners of the “Lombardia è ricerca” award, reserved for students in the 2024/2025 school year will also take the stage, for prototypes created by groups of pupils from Lombardy's secondary schools on topics relating to the Life Sciences.
The detailed programme for Research Day 2024 will soon be available in the dedicated section of the new “Lombardia è ricerca” International Award website.
In fact, the “Lombardia è ricerca” Award website has been revamped with new graphics and a dedicated url.
The new design aims to ensure a smoother browsing experience for users and includes a self-contained navigation menu, which highlights the Research Day event through the different sections; the six editions of the Award ceremony to find out all about previous winners; and multimedia content with news, interviews, images, videos of past editions of both the Award and the Research Day event.
The site also gives access to the page dedicated to the “Lombardia è ricerca” Award for students.
