In 2015, Italy joined the new United Nations Development Agenda “Transforming our World: the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development” and, two years later, approved the National Sustainable Development Strategy as the main instrument for coordinating implementation of the 2030 Agenda in Italy.
The Sustainable Development Strategy– adopting the same ‘broad-brush’, universal and inclusive approach of the 2030 Agenda – intends to boost the collaboration and interaction abilities to ensure the necessary integration of sustainability objectives into territorial and sector policies.
This challenge applies nationally and regionally, and the Lombardy Region calls on its Directorates, stakeholders and citizens to define shared paths for sustainable development – here understood as summing up its three components, environmental, economic and social – in our territory.
It is proposed to offer a public consultation that can help provide a long-term view for carrying out actions that are targeted, shared and above all constructed according to the needs of people and the specificities of the territory.
With this consultation on circular economy and the bio-economy, relevant topics at European level, for Lombardy Region is important to explore the theme of “sustainable development” out of the own boundaries also.
The consultation, opened on 27th September 2019, ended on 11th November.
